Boucle d’O (Odyssey)

Visual and musical poem
From 6 months old to 6 years old
Created in 2016
Two artists meet in a language of bodies, voices, rhythms and images to question what turns in our world, the cycle and the loop, the cog and the wheel.
From the crank to the roundness of the drum, from the centrifugal force to the spiral, the forms and movements resonate with the water games and the composed rhythms. Poetry is invited to make the words sound like musical notes, or as if the circle of the letter “O” was filled with water…
Through the symbol of water and the circle, the two artists question the cycle of life, the construction of identity through one’s own reflection and the relationship to others.
A show to share between children and adults.
This project was born from the meeting of two artists involved in the creation of musical theater pieces for very young audiences. In 2013, Florian Allaire, with his company A Tous Vents based in the Puy de Dôme, invited Florence Goguel to direct her solo Brin d’Air. From the pleasure of working together on the stage, to research and improvise, came the desire to share a project bringing together the two artists on stage. They took the challenge of confronting two strong artistic universes, to be nourished by these richnesses to be shared, coming from music, theater, plastic arts. From these exchanges over time, gleaned from each other’s tours, a form for very young children around the theme of the cycle and the loop, the wheel and the round, the cog…
“An open show that we share with the youngest because it lets the imagination wander.”
