Body Quartet

Musical and danced poem
Family audience from 4 years old
Created in 2015
Dancers, musicians, singers, artists with multiple talents question forms and colors through games of body and rhythm, voice and images. Songs and percussions answer to the dance in a colorful dynamic where arts mix for the pleasure of eyes and ears. The musical instruments (drums on frame, bells of Benin, tuned bottles…) transform the silhouettes while opening the doors of the imaginary. What is the image of what I hear? What is the sound of what I see? Dots, lines, colors, textures… They are inspired by the vocabulary of abstract art and explore the notions of contrasts, shades, light and shadow, emptiness or fullness. Big or small, square or round, 8 feet and 8 hands, 40 fingers of feet and 40 fingers of hands… Four hearts in four bodies beat time to create a living musical picture.
Body Quartet makes us dive into the world of abstract art. This “concert of images” is inspired by artists representing different movements of abstraction, from the origins to contemporary visual arts: Kandinsky, Delaunay, Mirò, Rothko, Pollock, Tinguely, Julio le Parc… Conceived as a series of “paintings” – Tetracor, The Empty and the Full, The Squaring of the Circle, Giant and Tiny… – it is with music and movement that forms and colors are expressed here.
“A wide palette and talent are present. A play about the creative act, to be shared joyfully.”

Quatre à quatre

Quatre à Quatre extends the experience of Quatuor à Corps (Body Quartet) beyond the walls of the theater. This musical and choreographic ballad is created according to the places, reinventing its form according to the spaces it encounters. It is intended for all audiences from the youngest age. After the living paintings of Quatuor à Corps (Body Quartet) inspired by 20th century abstract art, those of Quatre à Quatre echo the experiences of land art, mixing sounds and movements in a joyful encounter with nature.
